“Verilog, ASIC, FPGA” are not exactly household words, but they are at the very heart of the microelectronics revolution that brought us smartphones, fast internet, 3D graphics, and AI acceleration. For the last 40 years, the Verilog hardware description language has been used to design the logic of chips. An ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) is the chip itself, and an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) is a chip used to prototype an ASIC.

This website is about a meetup in Silicon Valley aimed to develop hands-on educational materials that augment the regular curriculum in digital design. We develop two sets of exercises: the first one lowers the barrier to entry into the field, and the other helps to prepare for job interviews in electronic companies. The meetup is hybrid: we work with people from all continents who join our Sunday meetings online over Zoom.

The meetup occurs every Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm US Pacific time at Hacker Dojo, 855 Maude Ave, Mountain View, California. You can join by Zoom, subscribe to our  Google Group mailing list or join a chat in Telegram.
